Kelsey Lowes is an abstract artist from Ontario, Canada.

Kelseys work draws in the eye by subtle textures that are created with acrylics and various mediums like charcoal and oil pastel. She focuses on creating a level of contrast in her body of work that draws the viewer into each detail.
When Kelseys work is seen up close and personal, each piece explodes with a chaotic mess of textures, layers and colour. However, as the viewer steps back, those small details fade into a cohesive piece, tying each mark together. Her work has been know for its balanced calmness, and also its ability to evoking different perspectives from its viewers.
This painting, titled “Middle Ground,” is a 24”x36” acrylic work created with a palette knife, showcasing rich texture and layered depth. Soft pinks cascade from the top, blending into moody indigos and cool blues that settle at the base. The transition between the warm and cool tones evokes a gentle meeting point — a balance between contrasting emotions or states — making it both grounding and visually striking.
